In 2009, the Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair (PRSEF) will celebrate its 70th year of open competition of research projects in the fields of science, mathematics and engineering on April 3 (competition day) and April 4 (awards ceremony) at Heinz Field. This competition is open to all students in grades 6-12 from 23 counties in Western Pennsylvania and three counties in West Virginia.

As the only local International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) affiliated fair, PRSEF will nominate Senior Division students to attend ISEF in 2008. Additionally, PRSEF will nominate middle school students to attend the
SSP Middle School Program (formerly DCYSC), held annually in October in Washington, DC.

• School Registration - Nov. 14, 2008
• Student Registration - Feb. 18, 2009
• Student Forms MUST BE SUBMITTED prior to experimentation

• One copy of research paper and application - Feb. 18, 2009
• One copy of research paper emailed - Feb. 18, 2009
• Final paperwork submission to ISEF by winners - April 7, 2009
• ISEF prep session - April 18, 2009
